Title: | Empowering Student Learning Through Formative Assessment |
Tutor | Con Hurley |
Date | Match 5th (7pm) |
Effective use of formative assessment in the classroom
not only helps shift responsibility for learning from the teacher to the
student but provides opportunities for students to reflect on their own learning.
This workshop will provide practical examples to help you successfully
incorporate the principles of formative assessment into your classroom
practice. Participants will learn how to co-create success criteria in
their classroom. Participants will be introduced to strategies for
successfully incorporating “teacher-led” formative assessment, peer-assessment
and student self-assessment into their practice.
Whenever formative assessment
is used, student voice is activated. This workshop will also reference
how the use of formative assessment activates student voice by creating
opportunities for students to express opinions as well as influence and
participate more in their own learning.
