Emotional regulation is the process of consciously managing emotions, to achieve personal growth and a sense of overall well-being
(Mayer & Salovey, 1997).
It is a key skill for well-being and resilience in young people, and is also vital in order for them to develop their potential in all other areas of their development.
This session will explore emotional regulation and provide practical strategies for SNAs to support its development in the students they support.

Working as an SNA is both rewarding and challenging, so it is vital to prioritise self-care and well-being on a daily basis in order to face these unique challenges.
This session will offer participants the opportunity to reflect on the challenges of the role of SNA, and also on their own well-being and self-care, whilst exploring practical ideas from the field of Positive Psychology, which is the science of well-being. Many of the ideas can also be adapted for use with students also, in order to nurture their well-being too.
