Title:
Understanding and Managing Anxiety (PP)
Tutor
Jen Trzeciak
Date
Jan 24th (7pm)
In a 2019 study undertaken by UCD and Jigsaw, 49% of young people aged 12-19 reported experiencing levels of anxiety that were outside of the normal clinical range. The long-term impact of the pandemic on mental health is not yet clear, however the WHO data suggests a 25% global increase in the prevalence of anxiety and depression.
This webinar aims to support teachers to recognise and manage anxiety in the classroom.
At the end of the session participants will:

  • Have an overview of anxiety and how it can manifest in students (physical, emotional and behavioural symptoms)
  • Be aware of common triggers and causes of anxiety in the classroom setting
  • Know how to identify and support students with anxiety
  • Understand and recognise high-functioning anxiety
  • Be able to create a safe and supportive classroom environment for students with anxiety
