This innovative online Summer course deepens teachers' engagement with STEM subjects and explores their meaningful integration across the curriculum. Through collaborative professional reflection, participants co-create enriching learning experiences supporting students' development.
Teachers engage synchronously (10 hours live online) to trial activities fostering children's curiosity with real-world relevance to Irish classrooms.
Asynchronous (10 hours independent online) elements allow teachers to reflect on their STEM teaching, creating a resource bank for the upcoming academic year.
Emphasis lies on developing key skills such as observation, reflection, prediction, analysis, and communication, applicable from junior infants to 6th class and within Special Education settings.
Course content spans enquiry-based Science, utilizing local environments, digital technology, mathematics connections, language integration, formative assessment, SESE integration, and whole school STEM planning tailored to individual contexts.
*Synchronous - 10 hrs live online via Zoom.
