Doodling for Wellbeing - Release your thoughts on to paper
Oct 3rd (7pm)
Are you feeling overwhelmed or just looking for a new favourite hobby?
Take a moment and join illustrator Sarah Bowie for a soothing doodle session. Doodling is a creative way to calm the mind, focus thoughts and help you re-centre. It’s also a great way to process information and improve your memory, and is a great tool for students in your classroom.
In this session, Sarah will guide you through a variety of doodling activities - from a Doodle Meditation to creating your own doodle designs and characters.
You don’t need any art skills to try this enjoyable exercise -
just a pen, some paper and a few minutes out of your busy day.
These activities can be used with the students in your classroom as part of the visual arts curriculum and across a whole range of cross-curricular areas, including wellbeing. Doodling is also a good strategy to use with students with additional needs.
Sarah Bowie is a picture book author and illustrator, whose work has appeared in The Guardian and The Irish Times. For more, visit sarahbowie.com.
