CESI Leaving Certificate Computer Science Community of Practice
It is with great pleasure that Dr Keith Quille will introduce the first series of leaving certificate computer science communities of practice with CESI.This amazing work was started by Dr Richard Millwood, and he has the great pleasure of continuing Richard’s work as part of CESI.
The aim of this series is to meet regularly, around the second Wednesday of every month, to promote discussion, sharing, and collaboration. As this will be a virtual monthly event, we will host it using a tool called discord. This tool will allow for communication and meetings even outside of the community of practice events. Therefore it will allow the community of practice to exist outside of the formal events. We hope that this tool will allow for discussion, example sharing and to build a strong community of practice at leaving certificate computer science.
This event will take place virtually at
- Sligo Education Centre
- 27th January 2021 (6-8 pm)
We will have a strict code of conduct for any member registering with this tool where the details of this will be provided at the following link. You will only ever need to register once and then can attend any of the virtual sessions where we hope to host them across multiple education centres in Ireland. The goal of this perhaps, when the restrictions are lifted that these events might become quasi virtual / in person. In any case now with the new schools coming on board, there has never been a more important time to develop a strong community of practice, under the official TPN CESI.
Keith is super excited to be a part of this, he only hopes to be a facilitator but still cannot wait to see how this community of practice may develop. With the coursework and exam being released only days before this might also serve as a platform for discussion around the subject.
