
Eva O Neill (@missoneilljuniorinfants) will look at what happens during the first few days of Junior Infants. She will cover practical topics like how to set up your classroom, plan your timetable, and use playful learning activities. She will also offer tips on how to support children with big emotions. There will be opportunities to ask questions and share ideas.
This webinar is suited to teachers taking an Infant class for the first time, going back to the infant classroom after an absence and NQTS with an interest in teaching infants.There will be a follow-up webinar on September 9th (7pm) which will consider the next steps in the Junior Infant school year.
Facilitator: Eva O’Neill is a primary school teacher from Mayo. She has taught Junior and Senior Infants for 9 years and has an M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education. Eva also works for Hibernia College on the PME course as an assessor and tutor in Early Childhood Education. She has a keen interest in developmentally appropriate practice in the early years, literacy, and all things play.
