Using Google Slides & Canva to Create a School Website
This is a series of 3 webinars that explores how to create a modern and attractive school website using a combination of Google Sites and Canva. This series is ideally suited to schools already set up on G Suite for Education but we will discuss how you can begin this process in the first session.
Google sites is an ideal platform for a school website as it uses a drag-and-drop editor, which means all staff members will be able to easily add to and update the site. Canva is a great tool for creating graphics and images that will give your site a modern look. Over the 3 sessions we will explore how to go from the initial set up to publishing our site online.
April 13th: Initial Set Up
In this session we will discuss how to get set up on G Suite for Education. We will then explore how to structure and create your site. We will go through steps involved in creating pages, managing your layout and choosing a theme for your site. We will explore the important process of mapping your site to your school domain.
April 20th: Adding Content
In this session we go through the steps involved in adding different content to your site. We will explore how to best add images, videos, text, documents and other files. We will also answer any questions and troubleshoot any issues you may from session 1.
April 27th: Enhancing website content using Canva.
In the final session we will spend time exploring the resource canva and how this tool can be used to create great images, logos and icons for your site. We will step through the process of creating content and adding it to your website. Time will also be allotted to answering questions that may have arisen since session 1 and session 2.
