Julie McInerney has been a Physical Education Teacher in a primary school in County Wicklow for 12 years. Her main passion and drive to become a teacher stems from her own dyslexic struggles in school. Although the path she took wasn’t conventional, her goal was to become a teacher and work with dsylexic pupils and here she is!
Julie "After completing my masters in DCU in Specific Learning Disabilities (Dyslexia), I implemented a number of strategies in my school and worked with pupils on a one-to-one basis to assist in their journey with dyslexia. My life experience has given me a unique perspective on how to teach dyslexic learners.
I am a member of the Dyslexic Association of Ireland (DAI) and Dyslexia Specialists Ireland (DySI), a group of professionals qualified to provide assessment, guidance and advice to dyslexic learners. I look forward to sharing my insights into life as a dsylexic learner and teacher."
