Sligo Education Centre aims to provide support to teachers and the wider education community, and to be an accessible and welcoming place of learning, reflection and social interaction.Welcome to our website, the aim of which is to provide an on-line service for the teachers of Sligo and surrounding areas.Through this website we hope to provide access to the Education Centre's resources and to keep teachers informed of up coming events and courses available to them here in the Sligo Education Centre.

Strategies to help with Junior Cert and Leaving Cert Revision for Students & Parents.

...a FREE practical workshop for parents & students which looks at effective learning, study and exam skills. It looks at organising yourself and managing your time most effectively for learning.  Participants will be involved in examining and sharing ways that can help them study more effectively using simple time management techniques. more

SCRATCH - Coding for Teachers  more

  • Develop basic skills in the Scratch programming language

  • Develop an interactive game using Scratch

Sligo Education Centre are currently nominating tutors to attend the national tutor training programme
for Primary & Post Primary ICT Courses.

If you are interested in tutoring, please read the Tutor Agreement and complete the tutor Application Form

POST PRIMARY NQTs undergoing the Droichead process of Induction:
From September 2016, NQTs who are engaging in the Droichead process must attend one cluster meeting per term more  
Cluster 1, which is a compulsory element of Strand B

Sligo Instrument Bank Funding Scheme Now Open more
Music Generation Sligo has announced its annual funding scheme, this year worth €20,000 for schools and youth/music organisations to expand or create new musical instrument banks. The scheme is set to benefit hundreds of
young people under the age of 18 in Sligo.
